Biography

I am a dedicated and student focused teaching professional who is committed to providing a well balanced, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all students. My goal is to insure that every child's learning style and abilities are addressed. I am a hard working and trusted educator who strives to collaborate with all members of the school community to meet the needs of the students and promote the philosophy of the school.

About Me

I come from South Carolina but I've lived here half my life,

Georgia is where I met my wife.

I have one child he's halfway grown,

We like to go swimming when we're on our own.

Music, movies, books or art,

Are some of the things that nourish our mind and our heart.

My Philosophy

My philosophy is easy to see,

I got to know my stuff from A to Z.

Content knowledge is the bomb,

Then your lessons can be presented with aplomb.

I don’t want be a bore,

But we’re bringing the Common Core.

One thing is clear,

I make sure all my children are here,

Both in mind and in heart,

Now that’s a good start.

Learning should be fun,

Not done on the run.

The language of learning for a child is play,

So get them on the right track and get out of the way.

Every classroom is a community,

All our kids vary in ability.

So I take heed,

And teach to their need.

Try to keep it real,

It will help them deal.

I believe each child brings their own special gift,

We’re just here to give them a lift.

Let them express who they are,

And they’ll go far.

Teaching, like learning, changes all the time,

If you don’t keep changing, it’s just a crime.

We learn from our colleagues,

We learn from the kids,

We learn from the parents,

More than we thought we did!
