Oakcliff is selling bottled water for $1.00. We are raising funds for water pumps. We learned that there are many areas in the world that have access to only dirty water, or no water at all. The pumps will be for those areas in need of clean water.
At our STEM Kickoff, on Friday September 2, Mr.
Miah shared with us Bangladesh water crisis information. This summer, he saw first
hand how pumps made life livable in Bangladesh. But many villages do not have pumps.
As Mr. Miah put it, he wasn't
looking for our help, but our help was the best birthday present ever!
When we heard these villages dilemma, we knew we had to help! Now, with the help of our awesome community, parents,
PTA, and STEM Committee, Oakcliff is selling bottled water to raise funds
for well pumps. These well pumps will help several communities get the
life-saving water they need.
Dr. Paschall, "YOU ALL went over and beyond with coming up
with an idea that demonstrated how our motto, "Enter to Learn...Exit to
Serve" is truly not just words."
