	Biography I can't believe that this is my 9th year teaching. I began teaching in Clayton County before relocating to Dekalb County Public Schools. I didn't intend on becoming a teacher. The first degree I earned was a BFA in Fashion Marketing & Design. After leaving school, I realized that a career in fashion wasn't for me. I wanted to have a career that had an impact on the lives of others, so I pursued more training to become an elementary school teacher. After my first year of teaching, I decided to earn another degree--Master of Science in Post Secondary Education--in order to teach adults as well. A few tidbits about me--I was born on the wonderful Island of Jamaica before moving to the states, New York to be exact. After many years in the "Big Apple," my parents relocated to Georgia, and I've been here ever since. However, I still love the New York Knicks and the Giants. When I'm not teaching, I love to read, write, shop, travel, and watch cartoon, history, and Science-Fiction shows. If I'm not doing any of those things, then I'm listening to a wide variety of music. I'm happy that I have the opportunity to work at such a wonderful school with such wonderful people. I'm excited to be the 5th grade chair. The 5th grade team and I have an awesome time working with each other and love the fact that we can come together to create wonderful lessons and activities for our students to enjoy. I also sponsor the Writing Club & Beta Club.
