Biography

I began my teaching career at Oakcliff and I have remained for the love of our children. I was drawn to the school for it's diversity and history of excellence. I began thinking about my career path as a freshman in high school in my career prep course. My basketball ball coach was also my PE teacher and she inspired me to think about becoming a PE teacher. I felt this career path would also help me stay true to my desire for lifelong health and fitness. I have always enjoyed learning through play and what better way than games that teach character building and health. I am extremely passionate about teaching our children the importance of taking care of their bodies. It's not just psychomotor development, it's also cognitive and affective development. I am from Georgia, I am happily married, I have a caring daughter, and a loyal dog. I take stock in the little things in life. Time is a precious gift.

A few of my favorite things to do include: running, swimming, yoga, walking my dog, cooking, reading, theater, traveling, and playing games with my family. I am happily married, and my husband and I have a loving daughter.

Educational Philosophy

For the love of children. Building relationships with my students and seeing them inspired is a gift that keeps on giving.
