Fernbank Science Center Offers NASA Out-of-School Learning for Fourth through Eighth Graders

Fernbank Science Center is excited to announce a new pilot STEM partnership with NASA Education. The purpose of the NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) Out of School Learning (NOSL) Network is to offer project-based STEM learning experiences that connect NASA scientists, engineers, and mission content with out-of-school time (OST) programs. The NOSL Network includes a time tested model of evidence-based strategies to increase STEM engagement among middle school students. Although the NOSL Network is a new effort, it will build upon evidence-based practices, lessons learned, and evaluation results from legacy NASA educational projects.

Fernbank Science Center’s NASA NOSL will build on previous outstanding NASA curriculum for grades 4th-8th and will be held on the following dates:

January 21 and 28: grades 4,5 9am-2:00pm

February 18 and 25: grades 6,7,8 9am-2:00pm

Parents can register their students through the survey at:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NOSLFSC

There is limited space for each grade. When the maximum number of students has been reached, the survey will close for that particular grade. Students will need to bring a lite snack and a lunch each Saturday.
