Educational Philosophy
I believe students are natural, creative, and active thinker; therefore, my role as an educator is facilitator. I can facilitate the student’s learning process by creating a learning experiences that allow students to take ownership of their learning, build problem solving skills, an offer hands-on activities where student can explore and discovery; Providing opportunity to construct and build upon prior knowledge and past experiences that connect real life with classroom lessons. I approach learning process in this way because I am convinced that learning occurs best when students employ their five senses, work independently and collaborative with peers, place in a natural environment where they will be self-motivated. Lastly, in addition to different theories on discipline, I choose to foster trust and respect in my classroom management plan, because researchers have shown that relationship based on trust and respect has limited and eliminated behavior problems in classroom. As a facilitator, I hope to bring the best out of my student and help them reach the highest potential in their academic career.
“There are things that you can do and I can’t
and there are things that I can do and you can’t
but TOGETHER we can make something beautiful”
This wisdom from Mother Teresa of the
Missionaries of Charity helps me to appreciate and embrace EVERYONE along my
path of life.
